Steering in VR

I have a spin bike and enjoy riding in VR, but I want to have more control. To actually steer the bike. Spin bikes have a fixed handlebar so it's not possible.

So I thought, why not make a clamp system and then put a dowel across and mount my Quest 2 controllers to the ends, like "bull horns"?

So here's the initial sizing test using a pair of mini super clamps. They work well and the spacing isn't bad. Now I need to mount a board across it and begin building out the steering mechanism.
